Ben is an electrician by trade. All of his day's tools fit in a double (or is it 1.5x) milk crate. He wants to be able to bike commute on his sweet Ascente, with the crate essentially locking into place. Since the tools weigh a lot, the rack had to be sturdy enough to reliably hold 100lbs.. also, he's taking the bike to Africa on Sunday. Meaning I had a super tight deadline to work with. ..and he's a bike nerd, with a good idea of what he wants in a rack (stainless, pretty, strong), so I had to work within those constraints. I managed to bang this one out in just over 2 days. Hopefully Ben is stoked on how it turned out.
